Primary School

Our Primary School syllabus offers an ambitious and broad learning experience, balancing core and foundation subjects. Children spend around two-thirds of their time with trained Primary specialist teachers, who provide consistency and a strong foundation across English, Mathematics, and other key areas.

This is complemented by subject-specific specialist teaching in Physical Education, Music, and the Creative Arts. We encourage children to take ownership of their learning, developing confidence, independence, and curiosity as they progress. Every learning opportunity, whether in the classroom, outdoors, or through wider school life, is maximised to inspire, challenge, and nurture each child to thrive academically and personally.

Our Approach

The Key Stage 1 curriculum builds on students’ Early Years Foundation Stage skills. This learning development continues into Key Stage 2, which ends at Year 6.

Throughout the lower years of Primary, learning remains practical and hands-on, giving the children the chance to explore, experiment and engage. As the students move into the upper years of Primary School, they naturally develop greater independence, focusing on study skills, critical thinking, and preparation for the next stage of education.

Learners Enjoying Success

Assessment is continuous through target setting, project work, written assessments, and homework assignments. Children are encouraged to review their learning and next steps using a variety of taught strategies. Data from the assessments is used to celebrate children’s achievements, identify areas of development, and inform school-wide planning.
