Dear Parent/Guardian,

As we draw closer to the end of the first half of the term, we reflect on the events that have dominated the school days with gratitude for your unwavering support. With assessments ongoing and workload increasing, we seek your support in

ensuring our students thrive while learning.

On Saturday, 25th Sept 2021 our music students took part in the 1st Young Vocalist Competition held at Peponi School. The following were our Braeside participants:

  1. Rodney K. Year 10C
  2. Zawadi D. Year 10K
  3. Paula-Jayne M. Year 10S
  4. Cliffe Z. Year 12A
  5. Andrew M. Year 11C
  6. Tahnia W. Year 10S

Zawadi and Cliffe made it to the finals that will be held on 10th October 2021 at Peponi School. We celebrate all the participants and wish Zawadi and Cliffe the best as they proceed.

Duck and Cover

The whole school participated in ‘Duck and Cover’. The exercise is a mock of what students are expected to do in case they found themselves under attack. To further the conversation on safety, engage them in the ‘Do’ and Don’ts during duck and cover.

Student Council

The newly elected Student Council members held their first meeting on Wednesday led by the President Matthew M. The first order of business was to receive their badges followed by deliberations on the changes they would want to make during their term. Student council members serve as mediators between the student body and the teachers.

Visit to Stedmark Hotels and Gardens

On Thursday, 30th September 2021, Year 12 and 13 BTEC Hospitality students went for an academic visit to Stedmark Gardens. The purpose of this trip was to expose learners to the current structure of hospitality industry, understand how to develop a customer service culture within their business and the role of communication, presentation and teamwork in customer service.

Home Learning and Diary Signing

We request that you support the students in ensuring they have completed and submitted all their take home tasks. We also would like to remind you to always sign the student diaries at the end of the week.

Future Focus Week

Next week, the whole school will delve into a career sensitization exercise. This will see students engage in different activities aimed at helping them to discover and develop their passions, talent and interests. Some of your children will come home with questions about your careers, please help them learn the dynamics of your careers.
