Braeside High School Week 1 Newsletter

Dear Parent/Guardian,

A big welcome back to the new academic Year 2020/21. I believe we all had a good summer break. As a school, we are delighted to have the Braestars back to school though on Remote Teaching and Learning (RTL). To the new families who joined us this term, feel most welcome to the Braeside family.

Timetable

We decided to have a full six hour day timetable this term because of our candidates in Years 10-13 who are preparing for examinations at the end of the academic year. Please support our students by encouraging them to attend all lessons.

Home Learning Timetable

This is to supplement classwork. Any assignments given will be marked and will contribute towards the Mid and End of Term assessment grades. To reduce screen time, we are encouraging teachers to give these tasks from the textbooks. If you have not picked the textbooks from school, please do so any day between Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Sixth Form and IGCSE Results

Please join me in congratulating our Braestars for the excellent results obtained from last year’s Cambridge and Edexcel examination boards.

• 92% of our A Level students obtained A*- C grades.
• 98% of our BTEC students scored Distinction Stars and Merits (D*-M).
• 86% of our Braestars got A*- C at IGCSE.

I am happy to report that 100% of our A Level and BTEC students have been accepted to universities both locally and internationally except for those who opted to take a gap year. A big thank you to our teachers for the fantastic work they have displayed in supporting our candidates. Here are some of our students who made us proud this year! This is a small representation of the whole group of candidates. Once again, congratulations to the class of 2020.
