Braeside High School Week 12 Newsletter

28th November 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We have come to the end of week 12 of teaching and learning. We are soldiering on as we resolve to overcome the challenges of this pandemic. I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support to ensure that Braeside remains the best and safest place for our Braestars.

Team Work and Safety

We take pride in the teamwork shown by our Braeside family in ensuring safety for all; not forgetting our Braestars who have been taking personal responsibility in following and observing the protocols and guidelines in regards to Covid-19. We believe we shall overcome!

Progress Monitoring Exams

Our candidates are preparing for the progress monitoring examinations which will begin on Monday, 30th November 2020 for Yr. 12 & 13 and Tuesday, 1st December 2020 for Yr.11. These examinations will help gauge how well each candidate is progressing especially after a long time of being at home. It will also awaken them to revision as they approach their mock examinations early next year. We wish them well as they revise over the weekend.

Non Uniform Day

Next week Friday, 4th December 2020 will be a non-uniform day. The students are urged to pay a minimum of 100 shillings which will go to support the Christmas fill-a-bucket campaign.

Christmas Fill a Bucket Campaign

Braeside takes time every Christmas season to give back to the community. This year is no different and we shall be receiving donations beginning Monday, 30th November to Tuesday, 8th December 2020. These include dry foods, toiletries, books and clothes. Students on Remote Learning are encouraged to drop off their donations in school or request their parents to do so. The collection point will be the dining hall. All items donated will go a long way in putting a smile on the less fortunate in our community and especially during this festive season.

No Screen Day—Middle School

We shall have a no screen day for Middle School students (Year 7, 8 and 9) on Wednesday, 2nd December 2020. The objective will be to give the students a break from their gadgets and to foster independent learning. We count on your parental support.

We wish you all a lovely weekend.

Regards,
