17th October 2020
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We have come to the end of the first half of term. I sincerely take this opportunity to thank you so much for the support you have accorded the school and our children. During the mid term break, encourage your child to take a well deserved break from the screen. He/she however should strive to complete any assigned tasks by their tutors.
Progress Reports
We will send you the progress report for your child(ren) in the course of next week. Kindly discuss with them on what worked well this half term and what they will need to do in the coming half of the term in order to improve.
Rhino Cup Debate Challenge
Last Wednesday, 7th October 2020, our Braestars successfully competed virtually in the first round of the annual KAIS Rhino Cup debating challenge. We are pleased to announce that our school carried the day; clinching the first position against Oshwal Senior School. Braeside was ably represented by three erudite speakers: Mueni K. Year 13R, Junaid C. Year 11C and Jordanna N. Year 12R; who diligently opposed the motion ‘That Vaccines Should Be Made Compulsory’. Congratulations to our brilliant debate enthusiasts for spending many hours going for gold!
EAMUN and MSMUN
Students engagement in extra curricular activities is paramount. A group of students who are members of East African Model United Nations (EAMUN) and Middle School Model United Nations (MSMUN) have been attending online training sessions. The training is aimed at selecting student officers who will be in charge of the 2021 Annual MUN Conference to be conducted virtually due to the current world situation. We wish them all the best as they prepare for this conference.
We look forward to seeing the Braestars after the break.
Regards,
Ms. Rachel Yongo
Upper School Coordinator
