9th January 2021
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Happy New Year! I hope you had an enjoyable festive season. I take this opportunity to welcome you to the start of term 2. Most students are back and already busy.
New Families
A particular warm welcome goes to the new families who have joined the Braeside family this term. The new students are settling in school well. Do not hesitate to reach out to us incase your child has any challenges in settling in.
Book Week
In our effort to encourage the Braeside students to read, we shall be having the Annual Book Week from Monday, 11th to Friday, 15th. There are several activities lined up which include: reading during form period, doing book reviews, book donation on Wednesday and to crown the week on Friday, every student will be expected to dress up like a character in a fiction text.
Health and Hygiene Protocols
We are happy to see Braestars back in school. We continue to emphasize and remind our learners about keeping safe and following the laid down procedures. We request for your support from home by encouraging our Braestars to observe all protocols at all times.
We encourage students to pack a small sanitizer bottle where possible for personal use as much as we provide this in school. Remember to pack an extra mask incase one is damaged.
Bags and Use of Textbooks in School
At the moment, we are not allowing the use of lockers by our students. In order to reduce the number of items in their bags, we wish to reiterate that students don’t carry their textbooks to school. Teachers are aware on how to go about the use of textbooks in the process of learning. Learners are requested to only pack exercise books to be used for the day.
Lunch
We are currently brainstorming on what we need to do and how we can offer school lunch in a safe environment. For now, students are carrying their packed lunch with the necessary cutlery.
As earlier communicated, we continue to discourage the delivery of lunch in school as we are trying to limit the number people accessing the compound during the day.
Thank you for your cooperation on this matter as we continue to explore the possibilities of providing school lunch in future.
Once again welcome back to school and we look forward to a good and successful term.
Have a nice weekend.
Regards,
Mr. Wallen Nyamota
Headteacher
