13th March 2021
Dear Parent/Guardian,
We have successfully come to the end of our 10th week of this term. I want to thank you all for your continuous support throughout and as a school, we shall endeavour to continue observing the health and safety protocols to ensure safety to all while we are in school. Here are some weekly updates:
Assessments and Reports
Assessments are going on and teachers are preparing reports for the same. Let us encourage our students to continue doing their revision in order to perform their best in the different subjects.
Mathematics Week
The International Day of Mathematics (IDM) is a worldwide celebration. The celebration is observed each year on 14th March and the theme for this year is ‘Mathematics for a Better World’. Students were engaged in different fun activities for the whole week to appreciate the central role Mathematics plays in almost every aspect of our daily life. This is what some of them had to say:
‘‘Mathematics week was one of my favourite weeks. I loved looking at the displays and baking a Math cake. I also loved learning new ways of solving problems and doing fun work sheets and riddles. I also discovered that Math is really fun. I thank Mr. Biaru and the rest of the Math teachers’’. Neema M. Year 7S
‘‘Mathematics week was enjoyable for everyone with lots of fun activities. There were many fun things such as interesting worksheets, indoor games and cool Maths tricks. This week made Mathematics fun. I hope we can do this again next year’’. Gabriella H. Year 7C
‘‘Mathematics week was incredibly fun. The riddles, worksheets and of course the jokes. We learnt and did a lot every morning. We also had fun and safe adventures during Math. Some of the games and worksheets were a bit challenging, but nowhere near hard. Math week was the best week ever full of fun but most of all Mathematics’’. Mya W. Year 7S
Poetry in Mathematical Terms
My Heart’s Addition
When I count my blessings, I multiply them by 2,
Because with you, everything is double as good,
I carry these words from the bottom of my heart.
Adding sprinkles of love,
I divide the problems we might encounter,
Only to estimate if you’ll love me as much.
We might not be from similar backgrounds,
But I will love you at every angle of the world’s problems,
There is a possibility, that like parallel lines,
we may never meet.
Under the brackets of the skies and the earth,
We will stretch to the ends of the earth,
To simplify every problem as we go,
Working every formula we have,
For you were always meant to be my significant other.
