Braeside High Week 3 Newsletter

Dear Parent/Guardian,

It has been three weeks of physical learning and although things look and feel a little different this year, our students have done an exceptional job adhering to our safety protocols. As we continue to get used to this new way of running a school, I would like to remind students and parents/guardians of the importance of adhering to our protocols; physical distancing, wearing of face masks, sanitising and staying away from school if having a flu.

School Diary

We give each student their own diary for the academic year and it has several useful reference pages. It is also an easy way for you to communicate with staff and for staff to communicate with you.

Year 11 and Year 13 Virtual Parents Meeting

Thank you to those parents who turned up for their respective meetings to discuss pertinent issues on their children’s academic progress and Cambridge Examination status as is. We request that you kindly get in touch with the Examination Office for any further clarification and payment for the examinations.

Year 9 Career Guidance and Subject Options

Year 9 is a defining year in the life of every learner doing the British National Curriculum. The learner starts thinking about possible subjects and their future careers at this level. The career direction informs them on the subjects to take in Year 10. We are taking the students through talks and presentations on the subject options available and the possible careers that these options can lead to. Department Heads are making presentations to educate students on the different subjects, their components and examination requirements at IGCSE.

Clubs

Our teachers are working at modalities to get clubs up and running. We are working to re-establish those elements of what makes High School such an important time in a young adult’s life.

C.S. Lewis once said, “There are far better things ahead than anything we’ve left behind.”
