Creche Newsletter Week 7

16th October 2021

This week, the Creche children continued with fun-filled healthy activities such as brushing our teeth while singing the brushing song and listened to various stories about the visit to the Dentist. They learnt the importance of brushing their teeth, why we need to visit the Dentist oftenly, and what happens at the visit. Most of the children are beginning to carry out the tooth brushing activity independently and are able to follow through with instructions.

Kindly help us to inculcate the same at home with the following routine:

  1. Stand or sit behind your child so she/he feels secure. Brushing teeth in front of a mirror is good too, because it lets you see your child’s mouth.
  2. Cup your child’s chin in your hands, with his/her head resting against your body.
  3. Angle the bristles of the toothbrush towards the gum. Move the brush in gentle circles to clean the outer and inner sides of the teeth and gums.
  4. Brush back and forth on the chewing surfaces of the teeth.
  5. Gently brush your child’s tongue.
  6. After brushing, encourage your child to spit out toothpaste, not swallow it. There’s no need to rinse after brushing because the fluoride toothpaste left behind protects your child’s teeth.
  7. Above all, have fun brushing your teeth as you sing the brushing song. (This we shared at the beginning of the term).

We ended the week with a trip to ‘Gatura Greens Farm.’ More details and pictures will follow in our newsletter after half term break.

Thank you parents for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to the second half of the term which begins on 25th October 2021.

Have a restful, fun filled half term break.
