Dear Parent/Guardian,
This week, the Creche children were learning how to make a vegetable salad
Feel the different texture and look at the different colours. Wash, peel, and chop the vegetables. Next add some dressing, pepper and salt. Toss it and Voila! You have a vegetable salad.
What fun it was seeing the children wash, peel, chop and mix different vegetables to create their very own vegetable salad! The children used varied vocabulary such as chop, slice, mix, add, crunchy, juicy and yummy to describe what they were doing step by step.
They also listened to the story of ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’. Thereafter, they went out for a nature walk and created a bear cave.
Using different fruits, vegetables and paints, they created patterns with a printing activity.
