30th March 2019
Dear Parent/Guardian,
As we near the end of the term, we take time to celebrate many achievements of our students. At Braeside, each student has an opportunity to shine in different stages, be it the theatre or the field.
School Production
The Key Stage 3 students put up a fantastic show last night. The ‘Shrek’ production gave students an opportunity to show case their talents and work as a team. A big well done to the cast and production team.
Non-Uniform Day
Non-Uniform day allows students to contribute to charity as they pay to wear home clothes to school. This term’s non-uniform day was on Tuesday, 26th of March. This is what one of the students had to say about non-uniform:
‘‘Non-uniform day is a way to express oneself like a zebra’s unique stripes. It’s a path that sort of sets one free because you don’t need to worry whether that tie got stained over lunch.’’ Mbugua M. Year 7
Year 13 Prom
On the 23rd of March, the Year 13's had their Prom at Radisson Blu. This is what the students had to say about the event:
‘‘We lit up the Radisson Blu, Upperhill Hotel. We shared laughs, giggles, smiles, compliments and memories that we will never forget. The food was of five-star quality. The 5 course meal left all our taste buds fully satisfied that night. We were each awarded according to our predicted behaviour and in our midst we had billionaires, clowns, photographers and scientists, just to mention a few. We ended the night after dancing our hearts out and everybody show cased their best moves. It was truly a night like no other.’’ Stephanie W.
‘‘The general ambiance of the day's events and the setup allowed the event to run successfully. With this being one of the last major events to happen as the class of 2019. We were able to spend time together while enjoying each other’s company. The program ran smoothly from the time we ate all through to the presentation of awards.’’ Natasha M.
From the Sports Desk
Braeside under 13 boys football participated in the prestigious Turi under 13 football tournament on Saturday 23rd March 2019 and emerged the champions of the 2018-2019 season. Braeside reclaimed the title which they last won in 2012.
The boys won all their pool matches against tough opponents. Other than displaying entertaining football, the boys displayed high levels of discipline throughout the tournament. Special mention goes to Marten Z. for his superb leadership as the captain.
Have a good weekend.
