2nd March 2019
We have successfully come to the end of week 8 of this term. The students have acclimatised with the school programme and are engaged with the many activities around the school.
Year 11 Bake Sale
On Tuesday, 26th February 2019 the Year 11 students organised a bake sale to help them raise money for their upcoming Prom. They worked well as a team when planning the events for the day and all activities were well coordinated. It was amazing to see how they set up the venue, identified resources on time and were prompt to clear the event venue thereafter.
Active Service Week
The Sixth Form students have had a busy week giving back to the Braeside community. They volunteered their time, skills and knowledge in helping others. They gave motivational talks, assisted the Year 3 and Year 5 pupils during their English lessons. This week has provided an opportunity for the students to further enrich their personal profiles which are crucial for university applications and also in line with the community service plan for the whole school.
The Power of Visuals
This week, the High School photos were taken. It was not just standing and posing before the lens of the camera but a group representing different cultures in search of social and academic excellence in a beautiful community. The students will use the photos to document their past experiences and for institutional memory.
Parents Consultations Evening - Year 12 and 13
On Thursday 28th February 2019, we held the parents consultation evening for years 12 and 13. The forum provided an important opportunity for parents, careers and students to meet teachers and discuss student progress in all subject areas and shared any concerns with staff. They reviewed the midterm 2 results for BTEC students as well the Mock results for the A Level students. We appreciate all those who spared time to participate in this important activity in the students’ academic journey.
Australian University Fair at Oshwal School
On Friday 1st March 2019, our Sixth form students attended the Australian University Fair at Oshwal Academy Senior High School. The fair attracted the top Australian Universities where our students had one on one interaction with international representatives and faculty. They also discussed their preferred program options and scholarships. They can now make informed choices on Australia as a destination for higher education.
