Kiswahili Day: Ustawi Katika Utamaduni Wetu (Thriving in Our Culture)

17th October 2022

Hayawi hayawi, mwishowe yamekuwa!

We had a fantastic Kiswahili day on Friday, 14th October. A day that was coupled with learning, fun and play. Braestars looked beautiful in all African and Swahili wear, they thrived in naming their attires.

EYFS Braestars had a chance of listening to Swahili version of Handa’s Surprise. In it, they learnt names of different fruits in Kiswahili; banana-ndizi, guava-pera, orange-chungwa, mango-embe, pineapple-nanasi, avocado-parachichi, passion fruit-karakara and tangerine-chenza. They also got a chance of making fruit salad using some of the fruits in the story.
