UK Universities Fair

13th January 2017

Dear Parents/Guardians

We are coming to the end of week two. It has definitely been a busy week for the students. I am now confident that the students have settled in well and adjusted to the daily routine. It was certainly pleasing to see a range of extra-curricular activities taking place last term (term one). This provided students with opportunities to explore their potential outside the classroom. We also have a range of activities lined up for this term. I request that we support the children to achieve their aspirations in and out of the classroom.

 UK Universities Fair

Braeside School will have a privilege to host the above event on 26th January 2017. We are excited to host this event, which gives important information to our students who choose to further their studies in the UK. We are pleased to have 30+ of UK’s leading universities participate in the Fair. We are convinced that our current Year 12 and 13 students will benefit from attending the Fair and receive first-hand information on studying in the UK. The chance to meet universities representatives face to face and interacting with them will allow our students get personalised responses to their questions; finding out more about the courses and funding opportunities on offer.

The universities who have confirmed participation are: Keele University, University of Birmingham, University of East Anglia (UEA), Brunel University London, University of Brighton, Northampton, The University of Kent, Cardiff University, Loughborough University, The University of Sheffield, The University of Nottingham, University of Portsmouth, Newcastle University, Nottingham Trent University, University of Surrey, University of Leeds, University of Central Lancashire, The University of Stirling, University of Aberdeen, University of Salford, University of Southampton, University of Bristol, Northumbria  University, University of Sussex, The University of Bradford, Middlesex University London, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Robert Gordon University, The University of Manchester, Bath Spa University, University of Edinburgh, University of Reading, Coventry University and University of Bath.

This event, will be open to a number of East Africa International Schools. There will be talks and presentations from the universities and consultations with individual universities.

The talks include: Engineering, UCAS/Personal Statements, International Relations/Politics, Pharmacy, Law, Actuarial Science, Study in Scotland, Social Sciences, Public/Environmental Health, Studying In the UK - Things to Consider Before Applying, Art & Design and Arts & Humanities.

I believe that the students will benefit immensely from this opportunity.
