Week 3 Newsletter - Braeside High School

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We have successfully come to the end of week three of this term. It has been a very busy week for our IGCSE/GCE candidates writing their final exams. We continue to request that we support our candidates through prayer and positive encouragement.

Welcome back to physical school

We are excited and happy to welcome our Braestars back to the physical school on Monday, 10th May 2021. We wish to remind our Braestars that we will be following the Health and Hygiene protocols as indicated in the attached Health and Hygiene handbook. Please go through the guidelines with your child before they report to school on Monday.

Examinations

The IGCSE and A Level examinations students sat for papers in the core syllabuses of Mathematics, English and Sciences. There are still some components of these subjects left to be done in the coming weeks.

The candidates appeared ready to take the examinations, though it is evident that the week has taken a toll on them. However, the quick start has prepared them mentally to handle the remaining days in this exam series.

During the administration of the exams, the invigilators have adhered strictly to the Covid protocols outlined in the internal policy as well as the Cambridge guidelines on running examinations during the Covid -19 period.

We would like to remind candidates and their guardians that they should keenly observe examination start timings to avoid delays and inconveniences. Drop the candidates 30 minutes before the start time. Additionally, candidates should not carry any electronic gadgets into the examination rooms. If they bring any gadget, they should be sure to find a safe place to leave them whilst they enter the examination room. We have noticed cases where gadgets are left unattended outside the examination room, which is not safe.

We wish all our candidates good health and the very best as they take their examinations.

End of IGCSE/GCE Exams: Friday, 11th June 2021

Year 13 Graduation: Thursday, 17th June 2021

Prize Presentation: Thursday, 8th July 2021

Closing Day: Friday, 9th July 2021
