12th June 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Curtains fall on the 8th week of the third and final term of this academic year. It is our hope that like the children, you are enthusiastic about the remaining weeks of learning before summer break.

Sixth Form Graduation

Our Annual Sixth Form Graduation will be held on Thursday, 17th June 2021 at 12:30pm in the School Theatre. It has been a long journey of their education, and we are proud to celebrate our Year 13 students; class of 2021.

MFL Day at Brookhouse School

Our students took part in MFL Day, hosted by Brookhouse School on Saturday, 5th June 2021. The event which was virtual had seven schools participating. There were competitions in two categories: Year 7 and 8, with the languages featured being German, French and Mandarin. Letesia A. of Year 7N emerged the best in her category while Naomi K. of Year 8K took position three. Congratulations to the Braestars.

Clubs

Clubs have been running where possible at lunch time due to the parent-teacher consultation meetings going on after school. The students are encouraged to go back to their clubs and actively engage in them from the coming week.

IGCSE/GCE Examinations

The IGCSE and GCE examinations which have been running from April finally came to an end yesterday. We still pray for and wish our dear candidates all the very best and welcome the year 11 students back with open arms for the A Level and BTEC programs which will prepare them for University.

End of Year Examinations

These examinations are scheduled to start in week 10. Kindly assist the students as they prepare for them. The learners are encouraged to revise the whole year’s work and to have a study timetable to help them give all their subjects equal weight in revision.

“How do you revise/prepare for examinations?” students were asked.

“I usually research on what we have been taught in class regularly, read through it and try to recall and write down the main facts without looking at my notes to help me master the topics”. Mwariama M. Year 12A

“The day before exams I ensure that I have had enough sleep. I take a good breakfast and afterwards plan my day according to my exam timetable e.g. I revise for specific papers, picking what I may be weak at and touching up on it”. Reuben O. Year 12A

“I read my text books, go through my notes and play games on Quizziz and Quizlet to build my vocabulary in the languages”. Cindy W. Year 7N

“I go through my notes regularly, write questions in my extra book, then try to answer them and memorize them. I also do some quizzes to help me revise what I have read”. Jemima E. Year 7N

“From small beginnings come great things” Anon.

We wish the students all the best.

Have a nice weekend.

Regards,

Ms. Carol Omollo
