1st September 2017
I am excited and honored to welcome each and every one of you to the beginning of a new school year. This school year will be a year of setting and reaching attainable goals, working harder and smarter and taking our school and students’ achievement to the next level. We are here to support all of you, by any means necessary, to ensure that our students reach their fullest academic potential. We look forward to working with you, our parents and the members of the community to provide a high-quality education that our children deserve.
I have met a great group of Year 7 students who are respectful, happy and excited to be in High School. I am also sure that the new families who joined Braeside this academic year with the Year 7s will bring a range of talents and experiences to the school community.
I now would like to share with you great news in the academic performance of our school; our year 11 and 13 students posted excellent IGCSE/A Level and BTEC results. We are proud of them. I would like to share some of the few individual performances of our students.
IGCSE: Rhoda (9A*, 1A) (a new record set), Karen (8A*, 1A), Brian (7A*, 2A), Wanjiru (6A*, 2A, 1B), Nicole (7A*, 1A, 1B).
BTEC and A level results were excellent too with over 12 students scoring 3A* in their BTEC. D* is equivalent to A* in A Level.
BTEC: Nigel (3A*), Andrew (3A*), Kathambi (3A*), Shavini (3A*), Wendy (3A*), Misra (3A*), Andrea (3A*), Leon (3A*), Jaramogi (3A*), Bayan (3A*), Loris (3A*) Muzdalifa (3A*)
I must first take this opportunity to give a big thanks to our teachers for their devotion and dedication to quality and success. I also highly appreciate our candidates who put in a lot of effort and hard work to achieving these fantastic results.
I want to emphasise the importance of working collaboratively with all of you parents and carers. This is key to the smooth running of the school. I am sure you will support us in ensuring that students attend school every day and on time; are ready to learn; are dressed in the correct uniform and have all the equipment they require for the day. It is only by working together that we can deliver outstanding results for our pupils to enable them to succeed at the next stage of their education.
On behalf of the board of directors and that of myself, I want to again welcome all of you and thank you for being a part of the Braeside school community where SUCCESS IS NOT AN OPTION BUT AN EXPECTATION.
