Year 1 Newsletter Week 3

We have had a very exciting week in Year 1. The children brought their favourite toys to school for show and tell. They had so much fun talking about their toys during class presentations.
Our phonics sets begun this week and the children were super excited to meet their phonics teachers and learn in new environments.
What did we learn this week?
Children counted and wrote numbers up to 20. They also learnt how to find 1 more and 1 less than a given number.
We also focused on the opening and ending of the story of 'The Gruffalo'
Announcements
Parents Phonics session
This is scheduled for Friday 24/9/2021 at 1.00 pm. The meeting link will be sent on Monday 20/9/2021 at 3.00 pm.
Spelling Books
We will begin sending home spelling books every week. The children will take the books home every Monday. Kindly practise spelling the words on the list with your child throughout the week. Please bring the books back on Friday in order for us to issue a new spelling list.
