Year 1 Newsletter Week 7

16th October 2021

Week 7 marks the end of the first half of term 1. We had our sports day event on Friday 15/10/2021. The children had a great opportunity to showcase talent, teamwork, leadership and problem solving skills.

What did the Year 1 Braestars think about their first sports day?

‘’We sang nice cheering songs!’’ uttered Astrid excitedly.

‘’I enjoyed cheering Yellow house when we were winning.’’ said Kyra.

‘’The balloon race was my favourite!’’ exclaimed Talisha.

‘’My favourite race was the 250m sprint.’’ said David.

‘’I like the three legged race!’’ exclaimed Jonathan.

‘’ The obstacle race was my favourite.’’ said Todah.

‘’We got a trophy for the most cheering house.’’ uttered Claudia.

Appreciation

A big thank you to parents for coming out to cheer Braestars. Special appreciation to the parents who participated in the races! You all made our sports day successful. Asante.

Assessments

The children completed their English and Math assessment with some guidance from the teachers. Some Braestars have already started displaying independence in reading and following written instructions.

Mid-Term Break Dates

Mid-term runs from Monday, 18/10/2021 to Friday 22/10/2021. School resumes on Monday, 25/10/2021. The children have a History project to be done over the break. Parents input in the assignment is highly valuable.

Enjoy the break!
