Year 1 Newsletter Week 9

Welcome to the 2nd half of the term. The children came back rerefreshed and ready for the rest of the term.
What did we learn this week?
The children learnt how to compare the height and length of objects in their environment. They also used strings, play dough, cubes, hand spans and rulers to measure different items.
The book of the week was ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ by Julia Donaldson. The children enjoyed writing and following a set of directions.
Mid-term Project
Most of the children submitted their mid-term projects. A big thank you parents for the collaboration in this. The children were able to compare and contrast modern toys and those from the past.They also enjoyed presenting and demonstrating how their toys work.
