Year 1 Week 2 Newsletter

18th September 2020

Children have now settled down and are working hard at participating in class, posting tasks and observing our online class rules.

We have also begun assigning children readers (Oxford Reading Tree). Please note that:

  • Readers are changed on Mondays and Wednesdays. This gives the children ample time to read and reread the books for better comprehension.
  • We encourage you to carry out the activities indicated on the first and last page of every reader. This will help your child engage better with the book assigned.

In our learning journey this week focused on

  • 2D shapes
  • The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson
  • Introduction to mammals
  • Online class rules
  • Old toys

We also learned new graphemes and used them to make words and sentences.

Reminder

Kindly remember to email the class teacher a signed copy of the Remote Learning and Online Safety Pupil Agreement, if you haven’t already done so. Thank you.
