Year 2 Newsletter - Week 4 Term 3

15th May 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Four weeks down and still raring to go! This week in Maths, we focused on solving number and word problems using partitioning method. The children were able to use the ‘+’, ‘-’, and ‘=’ symbols to record different calculations. Please encourage your child to continue using the language of addition and subtraction in their day to day activities. You can also help them to link mathematical vocabulary to the correct symbol for instance, add, altogether, more, plus, total, sum, more than, take away, subtract, minus, less, and fewer.

Curriculum matters next week

Subject Objective
Mathematics Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the 2 multiplication tables including word problems.
English Answering comprehension questions based on a poem.
Science Plants: To know some differences between deciduous and evergreen bushes and trees.
Humanities (Geography) Investigate how day and night are different at the north and south poles.

We wish you a great weekend.
