Year 2 Newsletter Week 6

9th October 2021

We are fast approaching the end of the first half of the term. However, there are quite a number of activities lined up for the children before the half term break. This week, the children have worked well to achieve the following learning objectives:

  • Maths: Count in steps of 2 and 5 from 0, and in tens from any number, forward and backward.
  • English: Use time connectives and adverbials of time or manner in sentences; follow a set of instructions to make an item.
  • Science: Identify the senses and explain their importance to living things.
  • Geography: Features of the seaside.

Next week, our focus will be on:

  • Maths: Division by 2
  • English: Plan and write a set of instructions
  • Science: Understanding our senses
  • Geography: The Seaside

We are grateful to parents who made time on Wednesday and Thursday evening to discuss their children’s settling-in reports with the Year 2 teachers. We remain hopeful that the observations and ideas shared will go a long way to achieve the desired learning outcomes.
