Year 2 Week 4 Newsletter:Term 2

30th January 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We come to the end of week four. It has been a busy but fulfilling week. Please continue to encourage your child to complete and upload homework set on google classroom.

This week in Math, the children were able to use a column method to solve addition and subtraction problems. They now understand how it is set out and why it is an efficient method for working out addition and subtraction of two 2-digit numbers.

In English, the children looked at various features of non-fiction books. They learnt that people often dip into non-fiction books for information rather than reading it from cover to cover.

Mathletics week

We will be having our Mathletics challenge week next week. Our theme for the whole week will be EcoMaths. A lot of exciting activities and discussions will be taking place throughout the week. These activities are aligned to the syllabus coverage and as such, curriculum time is preserved. Kindly note that the children will dress up in green on Friday as a culmination of the Mathletics week.
