Year 5 Trip to Mombasa

The Year 5 Braestars accompanied by their teachers set out on a trip to the Kenyan coast on 6th February 2024. The destination was Voyager Beach Resort. Why Mombasa?
The trip's objective was to allow the students to have first hand experience learning about; East Coast of Africa (History), Sources of water (Geography), Habitats (Science), Carving, Crafting and Designing (Art and Design Technology) ,Writing reports and recounts (English), Swahili food, housing, culture and dressing (Kiswahili) and Planning, budgeting and saving (PSHE).
Some of the activities included a beach clean up exercise, a tour of Fort Jesus and a visit to Akamba handicraft industry and gift shop.
It was such an enjoyable learning experience to remember!
