4th September 2021

Welcome to the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year. We are excited to have your child in year six and we hope to work together to help him/her succeed in their studies.

A big welcome to the new Braestars: Adam, Maryam, Mohamed and Rishawn. This is what they had to say:

“The school and the pupils are friendly and kind. They help influence you in your work.”-Mohamed.

“My experience in Braeside has been very nice and I have made a lot of friends.” -Adam.

“I have learned a lot and had much fun.” -Rishwan.

“My experience has been good so far and I have a few friends. I hope to make many more friends.” -Maryam.

Expectations

All students are expected to come to school at 7:30 each day with all the necessary materials in order to be fully prepared for the school day. Your child has been given a diary; a very important tool for home-school communication. We request that you read through with your child then fill and sign the required pages. We wish to thank those who have already done so.

Google Classroom

Your child has been invited to Google Classrooms in various subjects. Kindly ensure that they accept all the invites so as to access any learning materials and assignments posted therein.

Home Learning

Home learning tasks will be given every day as indicated in the timetable. It is imperative that students keep track of and complete all assignments given and submit them in good time. Kindly follow up by signing your child’s planner daily and checking their google classroom. Please accept the parent/guardian invite so as to receive daily or weekly summaries.

Annual Target

This academic year we will be guided by the target ‘Braestars for Sustainability’. This is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity.

In term one, our focus will be ‘Zero Hunger.’ We request you to support us in this at home.
